This article describes the “Lunch Buddies” curriculum, an evidence-based method for teaching conversation skills to students with social cognition challenges. The curriculum uses an adapted version of the TIP framework described by Leaf and others, as well as a team of cartoon characters inspired by the work of Madrigal and Winner that is specially designed to facilitate thinking about the social significance underlying each conversation skill. The article also provides a brief summary of student outcomes resulting from participation in the Lunch Buddies curriculum.
